Principle Power, Energias de Portugal (EDP), InovCapital, Vestas Wind Systems A/S, A. Silva Matos and Fundo de Apoio à Inovação have signed a Project Agreement for a phased development of 150 MW offshore wind farm off the Portuguese coast.

In October 2010, Principle Power signed a Turnkey Agreement with WindPlus, a Joint Venture established for the development of this Portuguese150MW offshore wind farm. Phase 1 of this development is comprised of a single WindFloat system with a Vestas V80-2.0MW turbine, it is presently under construction with installation and commissioning scheduled for late 2011. Funding for Phase 1 was secured from the Portuguese government, EDP and other WindPlus partners. WindPlus has initiated activities to secure funding for Phase 2, which will expand capacity to approximately 25MW by mid 2016. Phase 3 will follow the completion of Phase 2, reaching a total installed capacity of 150 MW.
