General Description
The Project Manager is part of the Project Management Group and reports to the Vice President of the Project Management Group. 
The responsibility is to manage the contracts acquired by Business Development for WindFloat projects around the globe and Grant Projects acquired by the Technology team, requiring a detailed engineering knowledge in the field of offshore energy projects to understand and manage complex engineering work scopes. Depending on contracts the scope of works covers support to Customer, or his representation, for fabrication and (offshore) operations. 
The Project Manager is the main contact for the Customer. 



Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Principle Power team to deliver the contractually agreed scope safely in time, budget and to the satisfaction of the customer. 
  • Manage grants’ scope as defined by the grant award liaising with the reference institution-Customer
  • Support new business by providing experience to the Business Development team
  • Support an open exchange between sales, study and execution projects and engineering to improve product and service of Principle Power
  • Lead defined sub-work packages, taking on the role of a Deputy Project Manager or Project Engineering Manager.

In this role, in execution phase, the Project Manager will:

  • Plan, schedule, organize resources according to project’s requirements and budget
  • Manage the contract commercially and contractually, incl. management of change
  • Deliver on-time reports, drawings and technical queries following the master Document Registers and the project schedule
  • Deliver other services as per contract
  • Interface with customers (developers, utilities, …) in cooperation with Business Development, managing expectations in order to foster a sustainable relationship
  • Interface with internal HSE, Engineering, Finance, Fabrication, Operations and Business Development teams 
  • Interface with external subcontractors working on the project 
  • Be able to create and follow work-flow processes and manage Customer site support and execution activities
  • Interact with legal teams to implement various contract requirements, service agreements, NDA, etc. or help in the creation of new contracts after negotiations.
  • Provide of regular internal and external reporting
  • Interact with Finance Team for regular financial reporting

In this role, in Sales support, the Project Manager will:

  • Provide input in Principle Power’s offer and review 
  • Develop and review project schedules and budgets with engineering teams
  • Develop project management documents, such as execution plans, master document registers, etc.

The Project Manager will also have an important role in Continuous improvement processes, namely by:  

  • Building internal quality interfaces with all areas of the Company and with special focus in HSE, Engineering, Operations and Commercial area, leveraging collaboration to allow Principle Power to build winning proposals, and negotiate commercial contracts;
  • Issuing and adapting processes and procedures in order to foster high quality deliverables in coordination with other areas of the company, namely those with direct interfaces with Project Management
  • Being up-to-date regarding the methodology developed within the company to meet the industrialization challenges


Required Education

  • Master’s degree in Construction; Offshore or Marine Engineering or related field; PMO certified preferred
  • Required Professional Experience: minimum 10 years of directly applicable professional experience  

Required Knowledge

  • In depth knowledge of renewable energy/power, technology and offshore renewables Industry.
  • Multiple years of Project and/or Engineering Management experience, preferred certified Project Manager 
  • Ability to manage a project commercially and contractually
  • Understanding of the technical and commercial drivers of an offshore wind farm project
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment split in various geographical locations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Project Management software tools as MS Project, Primavera or others.
  • Ability to produce clear and well written documentation in English. 
  • Ability to interface with other business units and upper management.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French, and Portuguese would be an advantage 
  • Authorization to work in the U.S and/or France  

Other requirements

  • Willingness to adjust to the requirements and opportunities of global work groups
  • Experience in floating system engineering and Familiarity with hydrodynamic analysis, mooring analysis, structural analysis, and mechanical systems

  • Ability to read and follow and interpret both contract requirements and engineering documentation
