Weight Management Engineer

Position Type: Full-time regular employee

General Description

The Global Performance Team is a crucial element of the Engineering division, tasked with several key tasks to design Principle Power’s proprietary WindFloat technology. We are expanding the team to support multiple contracted offshore wind projects in several geographies that will be operational over the coming years.

We are currently seeking a Weight Management Engineer to closely track platform global weight change across the full product development cycle. This position requires frequent interactions with other design disciplines across the organization. Timely collection of information, accurate calculation and reporting global weight of each platform are the key components of this position.


Main Accountabilities:

  • Collect component weight information from all design disciplines

  • Calculate global weight summary and generate weight report on regular basis

  • Track closely design changes and their weight implication

  • Provide feedback and updates to design teams

  • Support weight management database development


Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering majors


Required Professional Experience:

  • Experience 0-2 years


Required Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with at least one programming language such as C++, python or java

  • Experience with an RDBMS such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or the willingness to learn will be a plus

  • Structural analysis experience using SAP2000/SACS or willingness to learn will be a plus

  • Proficient in English (both oral and written)
